Fee questions
1) How much is the try-out fee ? $ 10, one time fee, includes all tryouts
2) How much does the program cost should my child make a team ?
4th Grade Team - $ 295
5th Grade team - $ 395
6th Grade team – $ 395
7th Grade team - $ 440
8th Grade team - $ 440
9th Grade team - $ 485
10th Grade team - $ 485
11th Grade team - $ 485
3) When does the program fee need to be paid ? ……….Upon making a team.
4) What are my payment method options. Credit Card, Check, Cash.
Practice Questions
5) When/Where are practices ? …..We start mid - March
Practice nights are either Mon/Tues/Wed, Location, Massasoit CC
6) When do the practices start ? ……mid-March
7) What time are practices ? ….. Practices are 1 ½ hour time blocks sometime
betwee 530 pm – 930 pm
8) Are practices required ?...... Attending practice is your guarantee for
playing time.
9) How many practices per week ? ……. 1 to 2 times per week.
Tourney Questions
10) When are the tournies ? ….Potential weekends for 2012 posted soon
Potentially, they can be Fri night/Sat/Sun,……Sat & Sun combined, just
Saturday, or just Sunday playing dates
11) What time are they ? …..The AAU posts times 2/3 days before the tourney
12) Where are the tournies ? …….Within driving distance, Eastern MA
13) How far away are they ? ……We do not do overnighters, unless a team qualifies for Nationals. Then team parents will decide upon attending.
14) We do not go Easter / Memorial Day
Playing Time
15) What is your playing time guarantee? ……You are guaranteed playing in
each tourney with practice attendance. Program fee's do not purchse
playing time. Playing time is earned. Program fee's purchase a spot on
the team and an opportunity to earn playing time.
16) Who determines the playing time ? The coach.
Tryout / Team Questions
17) Do I have to make all tryouts ? ………. Make what your schedule permits.
18) What are you looking for ? ……… The best fit for our program.
19) Why isn’t my child trying out with their age group ? ……They do, but on
occasion they may tryout with a different age group, but they are only
being evaluated relative to their age group.
20) How many teams per age group ? ……Depends upon # trying out.
21) When are teams announced ? ………ASAP on the web after last tryout date.
Our goal is to post teams on-line by Wednesday after last tryout
22) Are there adjustments ? .....Yes, adjustments may be made due to situations and circumstances as they arise.
AAU is very Fluid. You need to be very flexible.
We may play GREAT teams, we may play AWFUL teams. We may get scheduled to play up an age group, we may get scheduled to play down an age group. We may get a tourney schedule and then the night before, we get a time change. There is nothing we can do about it. WE DO NOT RUN THE TOURNEYS. They are independently run, we have not control over them. Again, AAU is very fluid and flexible and you have to be able to adapt to that.
